The Rules in Alaska
Alaska does not license auctioneers. There is no auctioneer board, no auction-specific statute requiring a license, and no state-mandated bond or escrow rules for auction proceeds. What you do need is the general Alaska business license required of essentially all businesses under AS 43.70.
Because there is no auction statute, there is also no state rule requiring a written contract with consignors or setting a settlement deadline. Those protections only exist if you put them in your own consignment agreement — which is worth doing regardless of what the law requires.
